Ian McEwan's latest novel On Chesil Beach is the next read. It's a short novel - only 166 pages - but apparently it creates strong reactions in some readers. This was so when it featured in the ABC's The First Tuesday Bookclub last year.(The link above includes background on McEwan and a transcript of the discussion about the novel ... probably best to read this after you've read the book itself, if you want to completely avoid 'spoilers'.)
